REDESIGN TIME with IRON FIST


Iron Fist was up for redesign over at one of the Deviant Art Groups I'm a member of and so I went with a kind of more literal interpretation of the character. My version begins when the protagonist discovers a strange gauntlet at the sight of a huge battle in the Middle Ages. It is, of course, a magic Iron Fist that imbues it's wearer with powers beyond those of mortal men. Etc.

One of the most unique styles in the history of comics is the one used by the late Vaughn Bode, whose pen seemed to flow like molasses across the page. It is a fun one to play with as I did not so long ago digitally...

Vaughn Bode's style lives on through his son and the many other artists influenced by him--many of whom will never know that that's the case.

WHAT IF? Luke Cage Found Jesus in Prison...


Sure it would be a nice story of prison saving a man wrongly accused, but it would have deprived us of things like the Powerman/Iron Fist series. So, in the end--good for Luke, bad for comic book readers.
