CONCRETE & the MONARCH

I was pleasantly surprised when the folks at the Daily Sketch Challenge came up with Paul Chadwick's Concrete as the subject of the day a little while back. Took it as a cue to get subtle with my line and colors here on one of these newfangled computer programs.

MARVEL ZOMBIFIED SWAMP THINGS

Two more of the Daily Sketch Challenges from a little while ago. Above we have Swamp Thing reading and disliking the Man-Thing comic... for some reason.

And here we have a pencil sketch of the original Marvel Zombie, perhaps a little more disco than I'd like to have drawn him...

HOLY CRAP:

WHITE SPIDER SKETCH

Here we have the complete figure of Spidey swinging before adding those crazy black details in front of this all black background I had to go with for speed purposes. (Go ahead, click to enlarge)


Here, I've added in the blacks that kind of blend the edges of his body into the background (had I the time, I would've added in some kind of contrasting element be it stars or a building or two), but still there was something missing... (Click it and see it easier, old man)


So I gave him a bit of a forward tilt and that seemed to give him the kind of pose I was looking for, more aggressive looking.

When asked to draw food and a character eating that food, there could be only one answer for he is the greatest eater in all of comicdom, he is the greatest eater in the history of fiction--he is VOLSTAGG and we must pitty the fool who stands between the Voluminous one and his grub.

THE NOT SO FANTASTIC LEAGUE

Quite the rush-job at about three months, finally sat down and hacked out this little number reimagining the cover to FANTASTIC FOUR #1 by Jack Kirby as a parody cover for the JLA's funny squad.

Neil Gaiman's Sandman aka Dream of the Endless. This is a 10 year old sketch at least... wonder if the series had ended by that point?
